Spotlighting - Lynne St. James - Her New Book EMBRACING HER DESIRES

Hello all you wonderful greedy people who decided to stop by again!!!!  Did I tell you that you might actually have to read this part of the blog to answer the question for the raffle?  Well you might.....Anyway, today we have the delightful author Lynne St. James with us!  She is the one who brought us the enchanted land of Anamchara.  Since she dropped by of course we are starting with the obligatory question:

If you had to choose to give up one, which would it be, chocolate or sex?

Chocolate damn it.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I live in the mostly sunny state of Florida with my husband, two dogs and two cats. I work in the Internet Technology industry and love to escape to the worlds of my creation.  When I'm not working, I'm writing, reading, taking pictures and sometimes cooking.

If I had my way I’d travel all over the world and set a new book in each place I visited.  Maybe someday!

I'm addicted to coffee and if I'm not at my desk you can usually find me hovering over my Keurig coffee maker waiting for the next cup.

I have three books in my Vampires of Eternity Series published with Siren Bookstrand.  Anamchara, is my new series, and it is published with JK Publishing.

Why did you choose to write erotica?

I didn’t really choose it—more like it chose me. I had a story to tell and it ended up being erotic romance.  There’s just no arguing with my characters they know what’s right.

Can you tell us about your first date with your husband?

I went to his house and we had wine and watched the movie “Fight Club.” I know, not very romantic but something clicked that night for both of us.

Do you fall in love with the characters you write?

Always, they are a part of me when I’m writing their story.  If I didn’t love them how would anyone else love them?

Where do you get the ideas to develop your characters?

Again, it’s not really me who has the ideas for the characters.  I get a vague idea for a story and then the characters show up and tell me who they are.  I know it sounds weird, but that’s just how it happens.

What series do you read and can’t wait for the next installment?

There are so many of them, but probably one of the longest running series I wait with bated breath for is Kim Harrison’s Rachel Morgan series. I’m so sad there is only one more book in the series.

Do you have a favorite activity to recharge your batteries before you start a new project?

If possible it’s a day trip somewhere with my camera – usually the beach – to take lots of photographs, the waves, the people, the plants, whatever catches my eye.  Soaking up nature and capturing it for later when I’m inside pouring my guts out into the next book.

Do you ever get angry at the characters you write?

Yes, when they hold out on me.  In Embracing Her Desires, I didn’t know until about 2/3 of the way through the story a major secret and I was pissed that they didn’t tell me.  But it all worked out in the end

Cooper chuckled at the look he knew was on Jase’s face.  Sliding into his jeans, he couldn’t get fully dressed until Hope came back down with his shirt.  He carried the mugs into the living room and dropped into one of the wingback chairs leaving the couch for Hope to have some space if she needed it.  He couldn’t be sure if she had any second thoughts.

“How about Jase and I bring dinner over later and we can talk and maybe watch a movie?”

“That sounds wonderful, actually.  Do you even have takeout here?”

Laughing, Cooper grabbed his shirt and slid it back on.  She had dropped it on the chair when she came into the living room.  He’d glanced at his watch and he needed to get to Jase’s so they could have that conference call.  “Yes, we have takeout, they even deliver—well the pizza place and sub shop do.”
